I admire the Germans for being so direct and opinionated in their responses to questions. There is certainly something to be said about people who are comfortable enough with themselves to tell the truth about how they feel, and also about people who are comfortable enough with themselves to hear the truth. I can recall a number of times when friends have told me they weren't exactly sure whether or not they were supposed to attend an event because of the way the invitation was stated. Although, all of the confrontation created with ones directness could/would create a hassle, but if you can't take the heat...
