AMD1

For my AMD1 I spent an hour watching youtube clips online of a German choreographer named Pina Bausch. She is considered one of the biggest and most influential pioneers for modern dance, internationally and for Germany. As an aspiring dancer wanting to perform works in Germany one day, it was fascinating to spend time watching her interpretations of stories and how she decided to showcase her works compared to those that I've performed and seen other choreographers display. I cannot say that the language of the works speak specifically to the German people, because dance, and especially modern dance, is a universal language not specific to any people but rather to the choreographers, but I did gain an appreciation for the progress of modern dance through these videos.
